Distribution Watch: Arrow Electronics, Carahsoft, Tech Data

Welcome one and all to the greatest show on earth—well, one of the greatest shows on earth—Distribution Watch, where we collect the finest tidbits of news from across the Internet in one handy article. This week we’re treating you to news from Arrow Electronics (ARRW), Carahsoft and Tech Data (TECD). Buckle up and get ready for your weekly dose of distribution goodness.

Arrow Electronics: Arrow has added cloud service provider StratITsphere Data Centers to its ArrowSphere North American marketplace catalog. The partnership will give StratITsphere customers the ability to sell and manage its best-of-breed cloud services through the ArrowSphere platform. Customers can access StratITsphere's technology on ArrowSphere immediately.

“There is a real need in the marketplace to help IT resellers make the transformation to become a cloud services provider,” said Dee Dee Lear, vice president of Cloud Go-to-Market and Business Development for Arrow’s North American enterprise computing solutions business in a statement. “StratITsphere’s commitment to the channel and its broad suite of cloud service offerings clearly align with the expectations of our solution provider customers.”

Carahsoft: Good Technology has tailored its secure mobility portfolio for state and local governments and educational institutions, and is offering its wares through Tech Data and Carahsoft. The mobile security technology vendor has created special product bundles and a new subscription-based pricing model to help users secure their mobile devices and protect enterprise and personal data from theft.

"In listening to the feedback from our public sector customers, we wanted to offer a more specific solution to address their collaboration and mobility needs at the right price due to strict budgetary requirements," said Eric Rivas, Director of US State and Local Government for Good Technology. "These new product and subscription offerings available through our two top tier distribution partners will give our public sector customers more freedom to use the device of their choice, while not compromising on data security."

Tech Data: Speaking of Tech Data, the broadline distributor also signed a distribution agreement with Imagine Communications to distribute the company’s end-to-end portfolio. The deal gives Tech Data’s reseller partners access to Imagine’s entire Enterprise Business Software, Playout Automation and Networking solutions.

“We are excited about our newly fostered distribution agreement with Tech Data, bringing the latest in IP, cloud, digital signage and TV Everywhere innovation to a broader range of channel partners and vertical markets,“ said Charlie Vogt, CEO of Imagine Communications. “Through its expansive global network, established channels and position at the center of the supply chain, Tech Data will enable us to more effectively and efficiently reach our target verticals: broadcasters, service providers, education, healthcare, retail and government. We are confident that this partnership will drive increased economies of scale and scope to better support our customers around the world.”

Thanks for tuning into Distribution Watch, loyal readers. We hope you like hearing the latest channel news as much as we like writing it, and we hope to see you back here next week for even more exciting developments. Keep on distributing.
