Hello there, and thanks for stopping by to check out the latest news from your favorite IT distributors. This week we've got updates from our friends at Arrow Electronics (ARW), Avnet (AVT) and Synnex (SNX), so let's get started.
Arrow Electronics: Network management and security applications accelerator provider Napatech (NAPA) signed a distribution agreement with Arrow Electronics to provide its portfolio to North American and European partners
Napatech’s solutions include its capture-to-disk platform, called Pandion, and its 20Gbps and 40Gbps network acceleration cards. The products are currently available for purchase.
The distribution agreement with Arrow Electronics will allow us to deliver our technology to a large and growing open source community, enabling them to reach levels of performance and precision that have not been possible before," said Walther Johannessen, senior vice president of Global Marketing at Napatech, in a statement. "We are excited to bring this technology to market through Arrow's extensive distribution channel and look forward to accelerating our customers' software solutions while increasing our market reach."
Avnet: Our friends in Phoenix have launched the Avnet Cloud Marketplace, offering comprehensive solutions from leading cloud service providers, flexible payment models and a powerful cloud management tool set, according to the distributor.
Using the Avnet Cloud Marketplace, U.S. and Canadian partners can offer cloud-based services through both consumption- and subscription-based models and create branded storefronts to offer complete solutions to their customers, Avnet noted.
In other Avnet news, the company completed its acquisition of Orchestra Service Gmbh (Orchestra), a German IT distributor of storage solutions and services for EMC products. Headquartered in Munich, Germany, Orchestra provides strong storage-centric expertise to help its customers grow and take advantage of the many opportunities that exist in areas such as cloud computing, big data and information management, according to Avnet.
“The acquisition of Orchestra is part of our long-term strategic plan to expand Avnet’s solutions portfolio in the region, while strengthening our EMC partnership in Germany,” said Patrick Zammit, president of Avnet Technology Solutions, global. “Orchestra’s capabilities are an excellent complement to our converged infrastructure solutions offerings and enhance our ability to accelerate growth for our partners throughout the EMEA region.”
Synnex: Synnex has been named 2015 North America Distributor of the Year by Ruckus Wireless (RKUS), a Wi-Fi and wireless network solution provider.
The award was presented during the 2015 Ruckus Big Dogs Partner Conference in Houston to recognize Synnex's continuing efforts to add value and support to their joint offerings, according to the announcement.
"We are proud to be selected as the 2015 Ruckus Wireless Distributor of the Year—an honor that demonstrates our team's continued commitment to serving as a leading resource for wireless solutions," said Peter Larocque, president of North American Technology Solutions at Synnex. "By continuing to deepen our relationship with Ruckus and combine our team's consultative approach and innovative programs with Ruckus' leading wireless networking products, we are able to deliver solutions to help the IT channel tackle the top issues facing today's wireless networks."
That's all for now, so until next time, stay safe out there.
