If you’re a hardworking millennial in the IT channel, take note: CompTIA is currently accepting nominations for the 2015 ChannelChangers awards program.
The program, which is now in its second year, puts the spotlight on some of the most prolific future IT leaders who are already having a positive effect on the industry, according to the company.
The program is open to “millennial” professionals aged 23-29 years old as of August 2015 who have at least two years’ experience in the IT industry. Nominees must also be currently employed by a CompTIA Premier Member company to be eligible to win.
“The IT channel is driven by entrepreneurism and innovation. That legacy continues today as an increasing number of young people are entering the workforce with a mindset that’s geared toward finding ways that they can make a difference at home, in the office and around the globe,” said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president of Events and Education at CompTIA, in a statement. “We look forward to shining the spotlight on the aspirations and achievements of this year’s ChannelChangers and working together to inspire greatness and more collaboration across the generations.”
Nominations must be submitted by June 22, after which time an industry selection committee will review entrants and name the honorees based on their time of service in the industry, accomplishments and honors.
“As part of the selection process, each nominee will be asked to identify some of the challenges facing our industry and demonstrate their creativity and strategic thinking by offering an approach to combat these challenges,” said Ricker. “They’ll also need to share with the committee why they joined the IT industry.”
This year’s winners will be honored at CompTIA’s ChannelCon 2015 event, slated for Aug. 3-5 in Chicago. CompTIA expects to notify all winners by the week of July 13.
