When HoundDog Technology’s executive team canceled a business trip from Europe to the United States a few weeks ago, I knew something was up. Now, the answer presents itself. GFI Software has acquired HoundDog. Stay tuned. HoundDog’s RMM product will be re-launched as GFI MAX. More details/analysis on MSPmentor today. UPDATED, July 28, 11:01 a.m. eastern: Here are some more extensive thoughts about HoundDog, GFI and MSP industry acquisitions.
Hi Joe.
Interested to hear your take on it. I wrote my take on it on the blog, houndogiseasy, com.
Essentially, our ability to enhance and deepen our product will speed up hugely and our ability to market amp; sell our product will be vastly improved.
And .. all the good bits (that our customer’s tell us they love) will remain the same.
So, I’m excited by it.

GFI Max.
Hi Chris: Thanks for your perspectives on the deal. I put together some additional observations for readers in this blog entry.
I wasn’t too excited when I had quoted a prospect through GFI, the prospect then called GFI directly, they quoted lower than the cost they gave to me (killing any trust with the prospect) and the prospect ended up purchasing through GFI. GFI response…sorry.
