ADTRAN names Roger Shannon as CFO: ADTRAN (ADTN) has named former Steel Technologies CFO and Treasurer Roger D. Shannon as senior vice president of Finance and chief financial officer, responsible for overseeing the company's financial well-being, investor relations and accounting. He will report directly to company CEO Thomas R. Stanton.
“Roger’s experience creating financial strength at large, multi-national companies will be beneficial as ADTRAN looks to capitalize on the significant growth opportunities in broadband services in markets around the world,” said Stanton. “As ADTRAN has shifted its focus as a software company and expanded our sales, research, product development and support teams around the world, Roger will play a key role in ensuring we create shareholder value as we help our customers deploy the future network state.”
Talari Adds New Financing Option for SD-WAN Solutions: Talari is looking to boost software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) sales with the addition of subscription pricing for physical and virtual appliances as well as Talari Aware, the company's central management tool.
The subscription pricing is expected to help Talari expand the SD-WAN market by creating an easier-to-adopt opex model for customers who lack the upfront capital to fully invest in the software, according to the company.
Datto Raises $75 Million in Series B Funding: Data backup, recovery and business continuity solution provider Datto raised $75 million in Series B funding this week, bringing the company's lifetime total to over $100 million.
The latest round of funding, which was led by Technology Crossover Ventures, will be used to continue Datto's global expansion and aid in increased product innovation, the company said.
RSA Appoints New CSO: RSA has named Niloofar Razi Howe as senior vice president and chief strategy officer, responsible for using her more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry to help RSA boost security industry's overall understanding of best practices to prevent cyberattacks.
Prior to joining RSA, Howe was the chief strategy officer at Endgame and has also worked for Paladin Capital Group and Zone Ventures, among others.
Bekim Protopapa Named SVP of Sales for Americas at Unitrends: In yet another executive hire this week, cloud recovery solution provider Unitrends has named Bekim Protopapa as senior vice president of sales for the Americas, responsible for expanding the company's market share and driving revenue growth. He joins Unitrends from Mimecast, a cloud service provider focused on email security, continuity and archiving.
“Bekim is a highly focused sales executive who strongly believes in the value of training, defining concrete processes, managing metrics and building a predictable business model,” said Kevin Weiss, Unitrends’ president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board. "Given his work ethic, leadership skills and expertise, I have no doubt that he’ll make an immediate impact on our channel-driven sales.”
