CloudMine Raises $5 Million Series A Financing Led by Safeguard Scientifics. CloudMine, a Philadelphia startup that offers a cloud-based enterprise mobile middleware platform, has secured $5 million in a Series A financing round led by Safeguard Scientifics (SFE) with participation by MentorTech Ventures, DreamIt Ventures, DeSimone Group Investments, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Mid-Atlantic Angel Group, Robin Hood Ventures and other angel investors. CloudMine said it plans to use the funds to enhance its product and bolster its marketing and sales efforts.

PeachWorks Raises $4 Million in Funding to Grow Enterprise Cloud Platform and Solutions for Restaurants. PeachWorks has closed a $4 million Series A financing round led by Allos Ventures. Huron River Ventures, Arsenal Venture Partners and Invest Detroit also participated in the financing round. PeachWorks, which provides cloud-based solutions for the restaurant management industry, noted that it will use the funds to improve its product suite.

Namely Raises $11 Million and Launches Benefits Offering. Cloud-based human resources platform provider Namely has received an $11 million investment led by Matrix Partners with additional funding from True Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Greenspring Global Partners and Vayner/RSE. This funding comes as a follow-on to Namely’s Series B round at the end of last year. Namely said it is using the funding to improve its platform and is focused on “giving clients the opportunity to grow more efficiently by streamlining all of their human capital management functions.”

Geofeedia Announces $3 Million in Funding, Hits $6.8 Million Total. Geofeedia, a company that offers a cloud platform to help organizations collect location-based social media intelligence, has secured $3 million to bring its total funding raised to $6.8 million. Hyde Park Venture Partners provided the funding, along with participation from angel investors Tim Kopp, former chief marketing officer of ExactTarget, David Gupta, vice chairman and former CEO of SDI and Gene Delaney, director at Sanmina. Geofeedia CEO Phil Harris said his company will use the funds to add employees at its Indianapolis and Chicago offices.

Md. Cloud Startup RackTop Systems Secures $1.5M. Eric Bednash, CEO of cloud storage services startup RackTop Systems, told DC Inno that his company has secured a $750,000 raise and will soon secure another $750,000 as well. He also noted that the funding will be used to fill various sales, marketing and engineering roles through the end of the second quarter.
