Scality RING 6.0 Includes Microsoft, AWS Integration
This week also marked the launch of Scality RING 6.0, the latest version of the company’s popular object storage software solution. Scality said it is the first offering to include S3 compatible object storage with Microsoft Active Directory, Amazon Web Services Identity and Access Management support. Code level compatibility will also allow users to deploy the solution anywhere they want, either on-premise, in the cloud or via a hybrid solution, according to the announcement.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: With IDC predicting the amount of software-defined storage capacity deployed in support of object-based SDS expected to reach 67.4 Exabytes by 2020, new and more efficient means of object storage will be critical to helping businesses parse through their ever increasing data stores. The addition of compatibility with Microsoft and AWS makes this a very attractive offer for enterprise customers.
