Confluent has embraced the Microsoft commercial marketplace as a first-party sales channel in its cloud-first, go-to-market strategy, according to Microsoft. Confluent, was founded by the creators of the open-source Apache Kafka distributed, event-streaming messaging queue. It has become widely implemented among the largest of enterprises who use Azure services like CosmosDB, Azure Synapse and Azure Databricks. It’s become critical also because Confluent connects with open-source solutions from other ISVs. Confluent says over 60% of its business is now transacted through the commercial marketplace.
