After a rough fall, will this be the month that the pace of tech industry layoffs slows? The answer, unfortunately, will be “no” if Wednesday’s news of cuts at Salesforce are a sign of things to come.

But we here at the countdown tend to be hopeful. After all, our look at the top 20 channel stories in December features a lot more than doom and gloom. Most notably, two would-be acquisitions got your attention last month. Will HPE buy Nutanix? Will RingCentral gobble up 8×8? Maybe not, but the speculation ran wild.

Meantime, we published a number of lists at the end of the year that celebrated channel leaders in various categories. Furthermore, we gave you some mega trends to consider for 2023 that you sunk your teeth into.

Financial struggles at Avaya continued to rank high on our countdown, while a Rackspace Hosted Exchange ransomware attack wreaked havoc.

As we like to remind you, it’s you, the reader, who determines the top 20 in this countdown. Tech industry layoffs and more make it because you read those stories on Channel Futures. Either that, or you engaged with them via our daily, weekly and biweekly newsletters. We want you to help determine the top 20 by signing up for our newsletters here.
