Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Expanding Worldwide
Google Cloud has opened a new data center region in Milan. The world’s third-largest public cloud provider now reaches 34 regions and 103 zones. All in all, that means serving more than 200 countries and territories. Google Cloud cites an economic impact report from the University of Turin that shows that Google Cloud’s footprint in Italy could generate up to €3.3 billion. The vendor’s expansion also could support up to 65,000 new jobs by 2025, according to the study.
In addition, Oracle Cloud has opened a second cloud region in France, delivering public cloud services. Oracle made the announcement on June 20. The new region is in La Courneuve, Paris. Oracle Cloud already reaches more than 10 regions in Europe.
The more regions cloud providers open, the more businesses and organizations they reach.
