Hardware-based security manufacturer Utimaco is launching its dedicated U.S. Partner Program to provide SIs and VARs with hardware security module (HSM) technology.

The program is aimed at helping partners “get the most from their encryption strategies while fueling growth in their own markets,” the company said. The program includes a “simple and attractive” pricing model and professional training.

Utimaco's Malte PollmannMalte Pollmann, Utimaco’s CEO, tells Channel Partners the Germany-based company has had previous partner programs, but they were all focused on the European market. This is the first with a global scope, he said.

“We saw what our competitors were doing, and thought we could offer something more attractive,” he said. “The timing is determined by our current focus on attracting and developing partnerships in the run up to RSA.”

To help facilitate and simplify the onboarding process for secure encryption with Utimaco’s HSM technology, the company has a training program available, online or on premises, and a knowledge database with more than 300 items to facilitate implementations for end customers, according to the company. Topics include, but are not limited to, typical HSM applications and the business issues they solve, understanding the technical details of Utimaco’s hardware security offering and technical training along the way.{ad}

“Our partner program gives everyone the opportunity to partner with the fastest-growing HSM vendor on the market,” Pollmann said. “The new program also eliminates complexities, not only those from previous partner programs, but especially those offered by competitors like Thales with its Gold/Silver/Platinum options. While those options are mostly based on the turnover of the partner, the Utimaco Partner Program focuses on enabling partners with knowledge, and pilots looking at new growth opportunities.”

Pollmann said his company currently is “hard at work” in its European markets developing a “cloud HSM solution,” and formulating how to take this to market in line with partner requirements, while keeping it easy and accessible for the end customer. A similar offering for the U.S. market will soon follow, he said.

Utimaco also announced it is joining the Infineon Security Partner Network. Infineon’s customers will have access to turnkey, enhanced encryption and key management capabilities to increase the overall security of the integrated systems that support Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
