Trend Micro Joins Agari Trust Network to Provide Email Security
Security software vendor Trend Micro has joined the Agari Trust Network to help enterprises detect and prevent email-based attacks on corporate assets.
As the latest member of the Agari Trust Network, Trend Micro will share and exchange threat intelligence data to help prevent email-based attacks on enterprise customers. Both companies will provide mutual data stream exchanges to boost the speed and accuracy of threat intelligence so that potential issues can be detected and remediated, according to the announcement.
“Agari has targeted the world’s cybercriminals who use email to steal intellectual property and sensitive personnel information,” said Tom Kellermann, chief cybersecurity officer for Trend Micro, in a statement. “By exchanging threat intelligence data, Trend Micro and Agari can better protect customers, brands, and sensitive information from the ever-increasing onslaught of cybercrime.”
The partnership was designed to help joint Trend Micro and Agari customers lessen the number of email-centric cyberattacks that enterprise companies typically deal with. Agari said Trend Micro’s expertise in security solutions will extend its ability to provide deeper and broader protection to its customers so they can protect their end users’ digital data.
“With Agari seeing information related to more than 10 billion email messages daily, even the darker areas of the Internet receive illumination,” said Patrick Peterson, CEO and founder of Agari. “Trend Micro has consistently been a leader in their depth of knowledge related to email abuse. The work Agari and Trend Micro can do together will set up the clients and brands we work with for success against cybercriminals.”
The Agari Trust Network was formed in 2014 and currently contains more than 20 email service providers, data partners and channel partners.
Trend recently made its Deep Security cloud and data center platform available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace to help customers protect their Windows applications and services.
