Security monitoring solution provider Threat Stack has unveiled Oversight, a new automated security monitoring service designed to eliminate the need for employee-monitored security.

Oversight is available as a managed security service for companies running on Amazon Web Services, with included 24/7 access to Threat Stack Security Experts to manage the solution, according to the announcement. Unlike other security monitoring solutions, Threat Stack says Oversight automatically alerts customers when a threat is detected, meaning personnel can be freed up for other tasks.

“As more and more companies run their businesses on Amazon Web Services, continuous security monitoring has become a must-have vital measure against threats,” said Brian Ahern, chairman and CEO of Threat Stack, in a statement. “With our Oversight service, we’re not only protecting AWS workloads, but removing the burden of managing the process, giving IT and ops teams back valuable time to grow their business.”

Customers who purchase the Oversight service will be set up with customized monitoring agents that identify and create custom rule sets based on individual client needs. Threat Stack said this process will allow customers to create audit trails for compliance purposes and provide more visibility into the monitoring process.

In May, Threat Stack named former Lockheed Martin executive Brian Ahern as its new chief executive, responsible for boosting the fledgling company’s stature in the cloud security monitoring market.
