Sophos Unveils Cloud Server Protection Solution
Sophos this week announced Cloud Server Protection, a cloud-managed security
solution that is designed to help channel partners protect customer servers against cyber threats and data loss.
The U.K.-based computer security hardware and software provider said its new Cloud Server Protection solution delivers host intrusion, malware and web protection by expanding Sophos Cloud’s capabilities and giving users better visibility into the current security status of all of their managed servers via a web-based interface.
“If compromising desktops is like stealing a wallet, then hacking a server is like robbing a bank,” Bill Lucchini, senior vice president and general manager for the Sophos Cloud integrated security solution, said in a prepared statement. “Today’s businesses need the most up-to-date protection, and Sophos Cloud Server Protection gives overtaxed IT personnel an innovative, high-performance and simple-to-manage solution for securing server environments.”
According to Sophos, the new release also is the only server security product that can continually monitor the server environment, detect new applications on an ongoing basis and adjust policies to maintain operational efficiency.
Sophos is “betting entirely on the cloud“
Kris Hagerman, Sophos’ CEO, recently told PC World Australia that his company is “betting entirely on the cloud” to help IT departments better manage cyber threats.
This computer security hardware and software provider continues to bolster its reputation in the unified threat management (UTM) market, too.
Sophos recorded a 27 percent quarterly increase in UTM sales in the second quarter of 2014, and the company also noted its network security business accounts for more than $150 million in billings.
