Sophos Teams with D&H Distributing for SMB Expansion
Security company Sophos is looking for a deeper foothold in the channel, so it has turned to D&H Distributing to help accomplish that. As part of a new distribution agreement, Sophos’s threat management and protection suites will now be available to partners working with D&H Computing in North America. Here’s what you should know …
First, a quick brief on D&H Distributing: D&H provides a wide selection of wares, from mobile apps and consumer electronics to server and infrastructure needs for the SMB. With Sophos security solutions under its belt, D&H and its channel partners will be able to better server the SMB community while also putting Sophos in better touch with its desired SMB base.
The new distribution agreement comes as Sophos fears SMBs are woefully “underprepared” for the “complex” web-based attacks that are continually evolving across the Internet. Getting Sophos solutions into as many resellers’ hands as possible is the end-goal for Sophos in this distribution agreement, with the hope that the company can capitalize on the continual security needs of smaller companies. With D&H serving more than 25,000 resellers, Sophos may easily hit that goal, since D&H resellers will have access to a large swath of Sophos solutions, including endpoint security (Sophos Endpoint and Anti-Virus), web and e-mail protection (Sophos for SharePoint), encryption solutions (Sophos Security Suite) and mobile device management control software (Sophos Mobile Control and Safeguard Easy).
The agreement with D&H is hot on the heels of Sophos’s efforts to reach deeper into the U.K. channel with managed service providers and VARs offering expanded Sophos solutions. Couple this news with its recent acquisition of Astaro, and it’s clear Sophos is making strides to become a channel power-player. For that reason alone, Sophos will continue to remain on our radar.
