Cyren (CYRN) today launched a new service that allows its Web and email security partners to block phishing sites before they reach end users.

Cloud solutions provider Cyren (CYRN) has launched a service that allows its web and email security partners to block phishing sites before they reach end users.

The company said the service, Cyren URL Phishing Feed, enables its partners to view phishing threats as they emerge.

Cyren URL Phishing Feed identifies thousands of unsafe websites daily, according to the company.

The service filters out media URLs and identifies websites with multiple sub domains, then looks for known phishing keywords and creates a real-time list of dangerous sites.

Cyren URL Phishing Feed also leverages the company’s Recurrent Pattern Detection technology to extract websites that are repeatedly seen in scanned email messages analyzed by its GlobalView Cloud platform.

“The scale of the GlobalView Cloud, combined with massive volumes of emails and URL transactions scanned daily, delivers proactive phishing detection within seconds of an attack. In this way, harmful sites are recognized and flagged before end users are exposed,” the company said.

Brett Wilson, Cyren’s vice president of products, said in a prepared statement he believes the new cloud security service provides its partners with the most powerful phishing protection technology available.

Cyren noted its cloud solutions use global data intelligence to deliver advanced security and help protect more than 550 million end users in 190 countries.
