Granite Telecommunications will deliver SD-WAN at the Telarus corporate headquarters in Sandy, Utah. The companies say the three-year agreement will give agents a helpful use case for SD-WAN deployment.

“We’re excited about the new business prospects the announcement of this deployment will create for the Granite-Telarus partnership,” said Dave Hanron, Granite senior national channel manager. “We look forward to duplicating the custom SD-WAN design for many of Telarus’ channel partners and their customers.”

Granite earlier this year unveiled a “built-to-order” SD-WAN portfolio consisting of six different vendors. In this instance, Granite will deploy and manage the VMware VeloCloud platform. Granite will use its network operations center to monitor and manage it.

“Granite has shown time and time again the ability to deliver not just in connectivity aggregation, but in additional services, such as SD-WAN,” said Josh Lupresto, Telarus vice president of sales engineering. “They have a great practice around their VeloCloud offering and we were excited to partner with them when our own need arose.”

The companies have already been partnering with each other. In fact, Telarus passed $1 million in monthly billings with Granite two years ago.

“Granite has worked side by side with the Telarus for many years to deliver advanced communications services to businesses through the Telarus sales agent network,” said Hanron said. “As a top master agency, the Telarus team has vetted numerous SD-WAN providers, so we’re especially pleased to have earned the confidence of their engineering and IT teams and to be chosen as their own SD-WAN supplier.”

It’s always interesting to see the technologies that master agents choose for their own locations. For example, Chicago-based TBI last year deployed 8×8 UCaaS.
