Master agency TBI has expanded its SD-WAN offerings through a new partnership with Bigleaf Networks, the intelligent networking service.

Bigleaf’s SD-WAN uses a split architecture that leverages both routers at the customer premises, as well as a dedicated gateway network built into major internet peering hubs around the country. This gives end-to-end management and control over any cloud-based traffic.

Jeff Newton, TBI’s vice president of enterprise sales and engineering, tells Channel Partners that Bigleaf’s SD-WAN gives his company’s partners the opportunity to utilize a “best in class and very easy to deploy SD-WAN solution regardless of their current carrier.”

“Not all customers are created equal, and the benefits to our partners are now they can work alongside our solution engineers to craft strategic solutions to meet the individual needs of their customers,” he said. “[Bigleaf’s] SD-WAN features work great for retail multi-site environments. It is very common for retail sites to have multiple broadband connections used in a static environment where applications are routed statically meaning there is no dynamic routing. Very common for Wi-Fi to use one connection and their POS to use the other, but not both. With Bigleaf SD-WAN, you gain efficiencies in internet use and redundancy for a better user experience.”

For customers leveraging a VPN architecture for site-to-site connectivity, Bigleaf’s QoS and same IP failover platform will direct and control the tunnel traffic to provide VPN stability and performance, TBI said.

The SD-WAN market is becoming very convoluted, Newton said. Almost everyone says they have an SD-WAN product, but it means something different to every provider, he said.

“Adding Bigleaf to our robust SD-WAN portfolio is another over-the-top solution (along with Cloudgenix and Ecessa) that we’ve added for an easy-to-sell, easy-to-install and easy-to-deploy option for those customers that have existing carrier relationships and also need physically diverse connectivity to the cloud with enhanced visibility and security,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to begin this relationship with TBI and their extensive partner community,” said John Hogan, Bigleaf’s vice president of partner sales and business development. “For partners that value a vendor-neutral approach to telecom consulting, and like the idea of building carrier and physically diverse connectivity to the cloud that is both cost-effective and robust, Bigleaf is a natural fit in the SD-WAN space.”
