MegaPath Inc., the CLEC comprised of Covad, MegaPath and Speakeasy, on Wednesday launched nationwide Ethernet service for SMBs, hoping to target businesses fed up with their T-1s.

Its another MegaPath product channel partners may sell.

MegaPath said its Ethernet service, dubbed Ethernet 2×2, has the lowest cost-per-megabit on the market with dedicated access to 2mbps symmetrical upload and download speeds. Prices start at $259 per month, with bundled Ethernet and hosted voice service going for $229 each month. That bundle requires at least five lines of digital, analog or SIP trunking.

Ethernet 2×2 service is the result, he said, and it comes with service-level agreements and QoS for voice-traffic prioritization, which saves money on bandwidth.
