Level 3 Enables Cbeyond to Expand Market Coverage

Level 3 Communications (LVLT) will be the primary provider of Ethernet services for Cbeyond (CBEY). The move will expand Cbeyond’s Ethernet services portfolio, geographic reach and customer traction.

The agreement allows Level 3 to increase bandwidth on existing circuits, provide additional bandwidth in all 12 Cbeyond markets and turn up Ethernet services in new markets such as Detroit, San Francisco, and Minneapolis. Level 3 will also assist Cbeyond with the migration of TDM to Ethernet technology using Metro Ethernet Private Line services, and Level 3 will help scale up Cbeyond’s network capacity.

“As Cbeyond continues to flourish in existing markets and expands into new markets, we are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Level 3 as they provide us with high-bandwidth network offerings,” said Richard Batelaan, COO of Cbeyond. “Level 3’s ability to turn up Ethernet solutions effectively is proving to be a considerable asset in our growth strategy.”

“Level 3’s extensive network footprint enables companies who are looking to grow their customer base and expand into new markets,” said Andrew Crouch, president of Level 3’s Wholesale Markets Group. “Level 3’s Ethernet-enabled technology will allow for dedicated, protected service quality and greater cost savings to Cbeyond as they continue to launch new markets.”
