Cloud Computing Concepts (C3) is supporting its cloud-based services with a software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) solution.

C3 partnered with VMware-owned VeloCloud to use its SD-WAN platform. VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud offers edge and branch connectivity that will fill transport gaps for C3 customers and partners. C3 expects a diverse range of customers to experience “application growth, network agility and simplified branch implementations” as they use cloud-based data center services and SaaS.

“The VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud solution allows our network architects to select the appropriate connectivity solution(s) on a site-by-site basis, and then present them to the client as a unified, easily managed enterprise network,” C3 CEO Rick Mancinelli said. “We can now drive down cost and reduce complexity while simultaneously accelerating connectivity to next-generation technologies such as video collaboration, cloud computing and IoT.”

Mancinelli told Channel Partners earlier this month that he intends to position the company as a “single-source partner of choice.” C3 recently acquired EtherneXt with the stated intention of bolstering its network reach and colocation play.

VeloCloud has featured prominently in the service provider SD-WAN market. The company has formed partnerships with more than 50 service providers, including Windstream, AT&T and Sprint. VMware acquired the pure-play SD-WAN vendor more than a year ago to incorporate it into VMware’s NSX network virtualization platform.

And the investment appears to be making customers happy. VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger said at a recent conference that SD-WAN is VMware’s hottest product.
