3 of 4 Internet Subscribers Willing to Switch
Three-fourths of U.S. broadband subscribers said they are willing to switch providers, according to new research from Strategy Analytics.
The survey polled 1,003 broadband decision makers during September and October 2008 and includes data from the top U.S. broadband service providers, including Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Time Warner Cable, Cox, Charter, Qwest, Cablevision and Embarq.
The most vulnerable to customer defections over price is Time Warner Cable, the research firm said. Verizon and AT&T, on the other hand, are at risk to higher speed providers. Cox Communications has the most secure customer base.
While three in four people would switch, they don’t do it very often becomes of the hassle of scheduling the install and returning gear, etc. Somehow, they just are not excited about sitting around for half a day waiting for the tech. Go figure. But the concern drives home the point that broadband service providers can differentiate themselves with high levels of customer service.
