ScaleXtreme Announces Next-Gen Big Data Systems Management

ScaleXTreme is adding Big Data functionality to its next-generation systems management products, with the goal of providing actionable IT insights.

According to the cloud-based monitoring and systems management firm, the “next generation of IT will involve seamlessly managing systems within the enterprise as well as from multiple public cloud providers, through a variety of web and mobile devices.” It claims to answer that need with its products.

A key next-gen objective for ScaleXtreme is “actionable IT operations insights.” With Big Data capability added to systems monitoring and management, ScaleXtreme customers “can spot emerging trends and be better informed of the actions they should take to respond to immediate and upcoming issues with their infrastructure,” according to the company.

“Only a cloud-based tool can aggregate, anonymize and analyze IT operations data at scale, from a large base of users to deliver actionable intelligence to customers,” said ScaleXtreme CEO Nand Mulchandani, in a prepared statement. “The advancement of data analysis technologies has enabled us to begin work on an ambitious overhaul of the systems management products that IT operators are familiar with.”

General availability for the Big Data addition to ScaleXtreme technologies is scheduled for later this year.

In April ScaleXTreme launched its Xpress, Xpert and Xtreme financial tools, designed to provide visibility into cloud provider costs. According to ScaleXtreme, the technology was the first to unite cost and budget management with server launch management. Customers can set budgets based on user, role or organization and obtain granular usage information.
