The Planet: We're In Growth Mode

The third quarter of 2009 was kind to The Planet, the Texas-based web hosting provider. At least, that's what their momentum statement, issued Oct. 28, indicates. The really big deal, though, is The Planet's  biggest customers are spending more money -- which may well be a sign of a recovering economy.

The Planet says several areas are fueling its growth -- including complex infrastructure solutions, including managed cloud platforms and private racks, according to spokesperson Yvonne Donaldson. Also boosting The Planet's bottom line is the expansion of their partner program, with higher (up to 20%) commission rates for resellers.

“Our performance this quarter provides cautious optimism about an emerging economic turn-around, with indicators moving in the right direction," said The Planet CEO and Chairman Douglas Erwin in a prepared statement. "Our business experienced an upturn with new, more complex transactions and a healthier, more robust pipeline of opportunities than we’ve seen during the past three years."
