Tigerpaw Software Launches Partner Conference
Just when you were set to lock down your travel schedule for 2010, Tigerpaw Software — the PSA (professional services automation) specialist — plans to host an inaugural partner conference Oct. 6-8 in Dallas, Texas. More details are expected to be announced April 1. Here are some observations for managed services providers (MSPs) in the meantime.
Tigerpaw positions itself as a PSA and CRM specialist, and the company caters to VARs and managed services providers. Generally speaking, I think Autotask and ConnectWise have higher profiles in the managed services market. The next Autotask Community Live conference is set for April 18-20 in Miami, Fla.; and the next ConnectWise Partner Summit runs Nov. 4-6 in Orlando, Fla.
Where does Tigerpaw fit in this market? Founded in 1984, Tigerpaw claims to have a strong PSA following — 25,000 users in 50 countries. The company raised its visibility in 2009 by attending a range of MSP-oriented conferences, including the N-able Partner Summit and the Kaseya User Conference. Tigerpaw, which has an on-premises design, has also built a pretty lengthy software partner base.
For 2010, I think Tigerpaw faced an inflection point. No doubt this is a tricky time to be launching yet another user/partner conference for MSPs. Plus…
- There’s serious hype around cloud- and SaaS-based tools for MSP — where three recent mergers and acquisitions (GFI Software-HoundDog, Quest Software-PacketTrap and now Citrix Online-Paglo) caught considerable attention.
- Autotask continues to market around its pure SaaS/hosted strategy, ConnectWise is pushing into the cloud, and Kaseya is launching some limited PSA functions in its cloud-based Kaseya 2 offerings.
Simply put: I think Tigerpaw needed a way to rise above above the industry noise. A partner conference may do the trick — assuming Tigerpaw can attract its user base and a critical mass of software partners.
Thanks for mentioning Tigerpaw’s Partner conference, Joe. As a long time user I am excited to meet with other Tigerpaw users, community ties, best practices related to my industry and all the other technical training that accompanies the software platform that I chose to run my business.
You refer to it as “yet another partner conference,” but to the 25,000+ Tigerpaw users that have used it for years, we welcome such an event.
I have three core vendors, Tigerpaw Software, Kaseya Software, and Robin Robin’s Technology Marketing Toolkit that are fully integrated. Not only has this tight integration and automation worked smoothly and FULLY, it has allowed my to catapult our growth while cutting our costs. So much so, that I won the 2009 Jaguar car at Robin Robin’s Boot Camp for exceptional growth and profitability in a DOWN ECONOMY. I could not have done that with out having the right tools and Tigerpaw Software was the cornerstone or glue that allowed us to fire on all cylinders.
I can’t wait for the conference!
Randy: No need to “thank” me. Thank you for pulling back the curtain a bit on your business. I look forward to hearing more about key themes that are set to emerge at the conference.

I am very excited about Tigerpaw conference. Tigerpaw is underrated and quite often compared inaccurately by competitors at their conferences. I hope this conference attracts new MSP’s and helps grow Tigerpaw community. I have been using Tigerpaw for over a year and a half after trying other competitor products and I am very happy with my decision. Similar to Randy Tigerpaw has allowed me to integrate my kaseya and my Peachtree accounting system to Manage Marketing, Contracts, Tickets, Accounting System very quickly. Tigerpaw and Kaseya have been key players to my growth of Managed Services. Looking forward to meet my Tigerpaw family in Dallas.
Hi Joe,
As a Tigerpaw Partner in Australia, we are really excited about the upcoming Partner conference. This is a long await chance for Tigerpaw customers to get together in the one place to discuss the solution set. Although MSPs are a major target market for Tigerpaw, it’s roots stem from the telecoms market and extend into the AV System Integrator space.
We are excited by the direction the company is taking. It’s exciting times to be involved and we’re looking forward to catching up with other Tigerpaw users.
[email protected]: Thank you for pointing out Tigerpaw’s other vertical market areas (example: telecom market experience). Sometimes I’m guilty of focusing too much on the MSP space.
[email protected]: I don’t think Tigerpaw is necessarily “underrated.” Instead, I’d say the company is sometimes “lesser known.” A successful partner conference is one potential way to address that challenge.
