Softengine Builds Hosted SAP Partner Ecosystem
What’s the fastest way to generate more revenue within the SAP partner ecosystem? One answer may involve Softengine, an SAP hosting partner that is building business and SaaS relationships with dozens of VARs across North America. The VAR Guy spotted Softengine yesterday at the SAP Partner Summit in Las Vegas. Here’s the scoop.
Based in Woodland Hills, Calif., Softengine got its start writing various extensions to the SAP ERP platform. The extensions target vertical markets such as food, fashion and retail POS. To maintain its growth, Softengine mulled several strategies – including staff hiring or franchising.
Instead, the company is building a VAR partner ecosystem called The Softengine Group. The effort is “designed for SAP partners that would like to expand their practice to achieve their business goals by leveraging “the power of working together” with a select group of partners and utilizing Softengine’s marketing, project management, sales methodologies, and a vault of proven software applications (SAP Business One Extensions).”
There’s also a major a major SaaS strategy here. VARs that participate in The Softengine Group can also leverage Softengine Business Now!, a hosted solution that combines SAP’s Business One platform with Softengine’s own extensions.
Roughly 14 partners have signed up so far for the Softengine Group, according to Barry Lederman, head of business development at Softengine.
At the SAP Partner Summit in Las Vegas, numerous VARs and managed services providers are exploring hosted SAP strategies. In addition to Softengine’s moves, Symmetry Corp., which provides hosting services for SAP applications, has expanded its SAP technical managed services under its Sym-Remote product line.
