FalconStor’s new NSS SAN Accelerator is here for VMware View and it’s geared towards enhancing performance and data protection for virtual desktops. FalconStor claims 10-times storage performance improvement, plus multi-tiered data protection. Read on for more details…
FalconStor’s Network Storage Server SAN Accelerator for VMware View is an SSD-enhanced storage solution that ostensibly increases the performance of VMware virtual desktop environments. It performs backups and recovery for the entire virtual desktop environment, and FalconStor is touting that they also supports VMware View snapshots, thin clones, replication and file-level protection along with the following features:
Entire VMware View environment – comprehensive, enterprise-class continuous data protection that allows IT managers to recover locally or from a DR site in the event of system-wide failure.
All VMware View user data repositories – complete data protection for user data located within the VMware View environment and redirected folders on a separate NAS appliance.
Self-service file-level recovery – users can recover their own individual files as needed, saving storage administrators significant time and expense.
FalconStor says an ‘average’ implementation of 5,000 users is $35 per virtual desktop.
