Motorola PartnerEmpower Program Rewards Radio, Mobile VARs

Quick refresher: In March 2010, Motorola launched its initial PartnerEmpower Program, with the first track that was focused on wireless technologies. It was Motorola's foray into providing specialization and providing a more robust partner program for their existing partners.

Quick refresher: In March 2010, Motorola launched its initial PartnerEmpower Program, with the first track that was focused on wireless technologies. It was Motorola’s foray into providing specialization and providing a more robust partner program for their existing partners.

The new tracks announced are the Radio Solutions and Mobile Solutions, covering two-way radio, bar code scanning, RFID, mobile computing technologies, and more. Both tracks provide incentives and rewards for increased commitment, and of course, rewards for competency.

I spoke to Motorola’s Mike deVente, the VP for North American Channel Mobile Solutions about the announcement and got some more detail on the partner program.

He detailed how Motorola is looking to streamline some things by providing the same-level certifications across all the different tracks, while also providing specialization. “We have meaningful certifications, [providing] differentiation in each of the separate tracks.”

deVente also noted that partner productivity is being looked at differently, where the volume of sales isn’t the bottom line, but a partner’s customer’s value is also considered.
