The ink on Lenovo’s OEM agreement with Dot Hill Systems Corp. means Lenovo is set to market their own branded storage solutions, with the Dot Hill 3000 series as the backbone. The new storage solution will fit within Lenovo’s SureServer line, while targeting price-performance ratios that Lenovo frequently looks to provide.
Dot Hill was chosen for it’s near turnkey solution that offers customizability and energy saving features, Lenovo says. The tech specs include 8Gbs of Fibre Channel SANs, 10Gb iSCISI SANs and remote management software.
Right now, the launch of the Dot Hill arrays will be in the Chinese market initially, but will shift over worldwide.
