Kaseya Connect User Conference: 5 Day One Highlights
The Kaseya Connect User Conference started yesterday (June 1) with an expansive panel, a poolside party and plenty of back-room chatter. Here are five key takeaways and highlights from Day One at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas.
1. Price Pressures: During a panel session, one MSP expressed concern about market pricing pressures. But Kaseya CEO Gerald Blackie told attendees to remember that the majority of IT markets face price pressures over time. Blackie pushed attendees to be the market disrupters — move forward with additional services as traditional remote management goes mainstream.
2. Contrast In Styles: Interesting to see CompTIA CEO Todd Thibodeaux here at the conference. CompTIA, you’ll recall, acquired MSP Partners last year. Meanwhile, the MSPAlliance continues to host MSP World conferences, but hasn’t been spotted here. Interesting contrast in styles.
3. International Chatter: Seems like there’s a lot of discussion here about the South African managed services market. I expect to track down more details today.
4. Studying the Market?: Mark Scott, president and co-founder of The Utility Company, is attending the conference. That’s very interesting, considering Scott was co-founder of N-able — the Kaseya rival…
5. Rival Moves: Some Kaseya rivals are using this week to launch new strategic efforts. One example: LabTech Software, funded by ConnectWise Capital, is beta testing an RMM migration tool that apparently helps MSPs migrate to LabTech from Kaseya, Zenith Infotech, GFI Max and PacketTrap, among others…
