Kaseya 6.3 Extends to Windows 8, Apple iOS 6 And More

Kaseya has unveiled software updates and new IT systems management modules designed for managed services providers (MSPs) and corporate IT managers.

Kaseya Company LogoKaseya has unveiled software updates and new IT systems management modules designed for managed services providers (MSPs) and corporate IT managers. The new Kaseya 6.3 release (and related modules) feature complete parity between the company’s on-premises and SaaS versions, and extend to support Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Apple OS X Mountain Lion and iOS 6, the company said. But that’s not all.

Key areas of enhancement include network discovery, policy management, custom reporting, and streamlined on-boarding, the company indicated. Also of note: Kaseya’s latest PR and marketing statements do a solid job describing the potential benefits to both MSPs and corporate IT customers. In years past, I sometimes thought Kaseya’s statements leaned too heavily on corporate IT and didn’t do enough to describe potential MSP benefits.

Among the enhancements to watch closely: A new Kaseya Discovery module that

“combines the power of multiple network scanning methods to properly fingerprint and identify a device across remote networks from a central management interface. Additionally, the Discovery module gives the IT administrator a simplified way to find, organize and automate the delivery of IT services based on defined policies.”

Dig a little deeper and you’ll see that the enhancements involve a range of offerings (including the Kaseya 6.3 Framework and KSD 1.4, KSDU 1.1, KMDM 1.1 and KID 1.1) each of which are available now. For product requirements and pricing, see http://www.kaseya.com/solutions.aspx.

The Company You Keep

Meanwhile, Kaseya is raising its profile among technology research firms. Today’s news included quotes from Enterprise Management Associates and International Data Corp. It’s a surefire sign that Chief Marketing Officer Bob Davis (a CA Technologies and Novell veteran) wants to make sure the broader Kaseya story is understood across the MSP and corporate IT landscape.

In many ways, Kaseya competes with RMM (remote monitoring and management) software providers in the MSP market. While that industry segment continues to grow, Kaseya also continues to engage corporate IT managers — competing in the IT automation industry.

Kaseya will seek to build on that messaging during the Kaseya User Conference, scheduled for April 29-May 1 in Las Vegas. It’s one of our Top 100 Channel Partner Conferences worth watching for 2013.
