Ingram Micro Gets Certified Expert In Digital Signage

Ingram Micro has launched a Digital Signage Certified Expert (DSCE) effort, which is geared and tweaked specifically for the Ingram Micro community. And where are they announcing it? A city with big lights and signs. Las Vegas, of course. How apropos.

Ingram‘s calling it  “a first for IT distribution.” Launching at the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas this week (Feb 23rd – 25th), Ingram plans on strutting their new ‘solutions-oriented certification.‘ What’s more is that it’ll actually be available on February 24th, letting partners get a jump start on the market, selling and supporting the already growing portfolio of digital signage solutions from the giant distributor.

Like all new things, Ingram is backing up the new “IM-DSCE” with online instructor-led training courses, plus face-to-face trainings.

“With demand for digital marketing reaching an industry high, digital signage continues to be one of the fastest growing and more profitable market opportunities for channel partners in the U.S.,” says Kevin Prewett, vice president, vendor management for the Ingram Micro Digital Signage Division.

In general, it seems like good news, but nothing earth-shattering. We already reported about Ingram’s foray into the digital signage world last year with NEXCOM.

But I hear you: “what exactly is a Digital Signage Certified Expert?” Great question.

Basically, being DSCE certified means that there’s been an exhaustive training that covers all the ins and outs of the digital signage world, including guidance on correct sign placement, ‘selling’ more than just the hardware (the idea), understanding and correctly charging for fees and services and “selling value.”
