Ingram Micro made several announcements for channel partners at its Cloud Summit in Hollywood, Fla.

Ingram Micro (IM) this week held its 2014 Cloud Summit at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla. to show channel partners how serious it is about molding itself into a worldwide cloud services provider.

The technology distributor’s aspirations to take its cloud business global were unveiled last week by naming Nimesh Dave as Ingram Micro’s executive vice president of Global Cloud Computing.

Dave’s responsbilities will include leading the company’s bid for worldwide cloud dominance with the new expansion of its program.

Ingram Micro announced several changes to its cloud business to more than 1,000 channel partners attending the event. This year resellers from Latin America and Europe also were in attendance.

Summary of conference announcements: Ingram Micro Cloud Computing Vice President Renee Bergeron took center stage on Tuesday to make the following announcements:

  • The company added more cloud-based vendors and solutions to the Ingram Micro Cloud portfolio.

  • There are new Ingram Micro-hosted cloud solutions and “white glove” services.

  • It has expanded its channel programs.

  • Channel partners can expect the next-gen Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace in Q2.
