Global Managed Print Services Conference Set for May 2011
How can MSPs master managed print services? Perhaps the answer will surface in May 2011, when Photizo Group hosts its first-ever Global MPS conference (May 2-4, Orlando, Fla.). A show announcement hit MSPmentor’s inbox today. While we’re not in a position to endorse the show I’m curious to see if the conference will help to push manage print services toward mainstream channel acceptance.
As we recently reported, only about 20 percent of MSPs currently have managed print services business practices, according to the fourth-annual MSPmentor 100 global survey (which closes December 17, 2010).
Still, the Photizo Group seems to be making a name for itself in the managed print services (MPS) market. And the two confirmed conference keynotes seem to focus squarely on attendee education:
- Peter Sheahan, the author of Making It Happen: Turning Good Ideas into Good Results, will share ideas for greater productivity, business success and inspired strategizing.
- AUXILIO, Inc. President & CEO Joseph J. Flynn will discuss “The Truth about Trust: Vendor Relations — a Reality Check.” AUXILIO is a health care MPS that leverages best-of-breed vendor relationships to meet customers’ needs.
The Photizo Group estimates the global MPS market will grow from $25 billion to $60 billion by 2013. But I’m often wary of such predictions, especially since it’s difficult to pinpoint how much of the money will wind up in the hands of VARs and MSPs.
Either way, I do agree with Photizo Group on a number of points. Most specifically:
- The managed print services market is growing.
- VARs and MSPs need more education to better understand potential MPS opportunities.
We’ll be watching to see and learn how the managed print conference plays out.
