FusionStorm Expands Coast to Coast Managed Services
FusionStorm, a well-known managed service provider, is expanding its business operations in New York and California. The company, which recently landed on the MSPmentor 100, also is taking a step rival MSPs should emulate — opening a larger demo center to attract and retain customers.
Admittedly, demo centers can be a double-edged sword. Spend too much on a start-of-the-art demo center, and customers may assume you’re overcharging them to pay for your flashy office space. Spend too little on your demo area, and you’ll look like a small-time player that doesn’t have the financial or technical resources to grow with your customers.
In FusionStorm‘s case, the company says it has moved its New York office to a larger space and built “a brand new new state-of-the-art demo center to better support their clients and partners.” The company has also opened an additional office in Bakersfield, California, about 90 miles north of Los Angeles.
According to a statement from CEO John Varel:
“Our customer base in the northeast and southwest has grown exponentially in the last few years, and we are expanding to accommodate those clients. As part of that effort, we are constructing a multi-functional demo center in New York that gives clients the opportunity to experience our latest technologies at work, live and in person, and we are opening a strategically-located office in Bakersfield that will give clients easier access to our engineers and support staff.”
FusionStorm also caught my attention because the company is pushing deeper into the K-12 education vertical, with an emphasis on the E-RATE program. I covered E-RATE a bit nearly a decade ago. But frankly, I’d lost track of the program and will check the status/opportunities for readers.
As FusionStorm puts it, “ERATE is a federal program designed to ensure that all eligible schools and libraries have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services.”
