The 2011 RSA Conference kicks off today in San Francisco, attracting IT security professionals and entrepreneurs for five days of the latest in security and related technologies for on-premise, SaaS and the cloud.

The 2011 RSA Conference kicks off today in San Francisco, attracting IT security professionals and entrepreneurs for five days of the latest in security and related technologies for on-premise, SaaS and the cloud.
Indeed, the cloud will play a starring role during the event, which kicks into high gear Tuesday with a keynote by RSA Chairman and executive VP Art Coviello titled, “Trust in the Cloud: Proof Not Promises.” And judging from the number of cloud-based products and services expected to make their debut at RSA Conference 2011, solution providers working in the ether will have a veritable banquet of new offerings to choose from.
This year’s event will host more than 350 vendors expected to unveil their latest technology innovations and disclose their plans for 2011 and beyond. The list of exhibitors is pretty extensive, each with something new to offer. Some of the more notable technologies expected to make their debut at the conference include:
1. Motorola AirDefense Services Platform — Dedicated Sensing: It uses collaborative intelligence with dedicated sensors that work with a purpose-built appliance to monitor wireless traffic live. The new software can support small businesses that have a single office or large corporations with many international locations.
2. Astaro Log Management: Its policy protection, error tracking and automated alerts can reduce troubleshooting by as much as 80 percent and help companies comply with system regulations. With this device, companies can store data in a central location and analyze data from all of their systems and applications.
3. Solera OS 5.0: Using this latest platform, clients will have insight into all of its own network activity. Its new features include protection against unknown threats, an easy-to-navigate interface, traffic views and pattern alerts to easily detect suspicious traffic.
The RSA Conference is well-known for its glut of product announcements, and this year’s event should be no different. Stay tuned for the latest and greatest coming out of the show, especially those right for the channel.
