Citrix continued its focus on providing customers with the ultimate mobile workspace.

Citrix (CTXS) closed its second full day of Synergy 2014 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Los Angeles with more details about its vision for the ultimate mobile workspace, the rest of its architecture, and how it all benefits end users.

Citrix CMO Steve Daheb and Enterprise and Service Provider Division SVP Sudhaker Ramarkrishna took center stage today to cover the mobile workspace, partnerships and 2014 priorities.

Review: Did you miss Citrix president and CEO Mark B. Templeton’s opening keynote yesterday? Don’t worry, MSPmentor summarized the key points yesterday.

Here’s a quick recap of what channel partners may have missed at this morning’s general session:

Citrix CMO Steve Daheb

Daheb served as today’s emcee, making several appearances throughout this morning’s keynote session, and he brought together all points expressed by Citrix executives during yesterday’s keynote session.

  • Citrix’s mobile workspace is built upon a few concepts. Citrix’s reference architecture is built on world customer deployments, Citrix’s broad portfolio and diverse use cases, Daheb told attendees.

Citrix Enterprise and Service Provider Division SVP Sudhaker Ramarkrishna

For the most part, the spotlight was on Ramarkrishna during today’s keynote session. He covered various architectural principles, Citrix’s Workspace architecture and priorities for 2014.

  • Guiding architectural principles should be based on several factors. He said products and solutions must provide customers with value, but from an architectural standpoint, there needs to be support for all application types; extensive security; hybrid deployment models; a platform that’s open and extensible; and various integrations and experiences.

  • Enabling mobile workspaces. Mobile workspaces  revolve around devices; device and location independence, app-fluent delivery fabric; service aggregation and brokering; and apps and data, he noted.

  • Citrix Mobile Workspace architecture. Citrix’s architecture is made up of the company’s own portfolio of technology, which completes the entire workspace architecture.

  • Citrix, Dell partnership. The two companies designed a desktop virtualization solution with seamless deployment and integration; predictable budget and scale; and manage and monitor from one UI.

  • HP, Citrix partnership. Microservers for Citrix combine HP Moonshot technology with XenDesktop. The solution is bare-metal, which means there’s no hypervisor layer; it aims to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO); and it dedicates processors and graphics for 180 users. Ramarkrishna added that the main idea behind the solution is that it’s hypervisorless.

  • Priorities for 2014. One of the key priorities for the organization is to continue to enhance capabilities to the Citrix Workspace services; provide rich integration; and superior experience, Ramarkrishna said.

In addition to being today’s spotlight executive, Ramarkrishna also interviewed a few Citrix customers, asking each about their experiences with the company.

  • Citrix technologies have eliminated paper products. XenDesktop allows workers to send data from the field back to the company, instead of field workers bringing back paper covered in filth.

  • Managing outcomes instead of technology. One customer noted the benefit of managing outcomes instead of technology, making it easier for businesses to focus on their priorities.

  • Innovation. Another customer recognized Citrix’s platform as a solution that opens innovative opportunities to the table.
