Aruba Partner Conference 2014: 3 Things I’m Wondering
Aruba Networks is hosting its annual partner conference this week in Las Vegas, so guess where I am? Thrilled to be away from the snow (and anxious about the next winter storm, expected to hit the day I return), I’m doing my best to focus on the event despite the abundance of sunshine.
Aruba Networks (ARUN) is hosting its annual partner conference this week in Las Vegas, so guess where I am? Thrilled to be away from the snow (and anxious about the next winter storm, expected to hit the day I return), I’m doing my best to focus on the event despite the abundance of sunshine.
Aruba’s confab this year definitely will be all about mobility (the company, after all, is at its heart a wireless networking vendor). But as we all know, mobility is a broad subject. How, exactly, Aruba is narrowing its focus and where its channel partners fit in are definite must-knows for this intrepid reporter.
Along those lines, here are three things my inquiring mind will want to know from Aruba:
- How is Aruba simplifying mobility? End to end seems a whole lot better than piecemeal, especially when we’re talking about infrastructure, security and management. Does Aruba have anything up its figurative sleeve to address an end-to-end solution?
- What does the channel say? Is Aruba’s technology hitting the sweet spot in the education and retail markets, as the company noted last year it was focusing on? Have channel partners noticed a difference in the last 12 months?
- Did I hear something about a new channel chief? I’ve been told that if I want to see the freshest face in Aruba’s channel executive ranks, I’ll need to look up. I believe the person who’ll be introduced Tuesday as Aruba’s new VP of Worldwide Channel Sales stands at least 6 feet, 5 inches in height. Or taller.
Stay tuned for whatever Aruba’s got in store for its channel partners at the event. And whether I get lucky enough for my flight to be cancelled so I can enjoy the sunshine a little longer.
