ADTRAN Connect 2010: Three Trends Worth Watching
The VAR Guy is heading to Huntsville, Alabama, this week to cover ADTRAN’s Connect 2010 Press and Analyst Event. The networking company delivered record quarterly sales in October 2010, and net income jumped nearly 50 percent during the quarter. So what will ADTRAN do for an encore? Here are three trends The VAR Guy plans to watch closely during this week’s gathering.
Trend One: How does ADTRAN plan to evolve in the age of cloud computing? Sure, ADTRAN in October unveiled hosted communications partnerships with BroadSoft and Polycom. But how are those relationships performing so far? And what’s next on the cloud frontier? The VAR Guy will be sure to ask ADTRAN CEO Thomas Stanton for some perspectives.
Trend Two: How will ADTRAN differentiate from folks like Cisco Systems. Historically, ADTRAN has positioned itself as a lower-cost alternative to Cisco gear. But does ADTRAN really plan to compete with Cisco on every front… or only in certain well-defined niches? And what role will channel partners play in that effort?
Trend Three: What are the key use cases for ADTRAN solutions? The VAR Guy will pose that question directly to ADTRAN customers. Indeed, some of those customers will be on-hand at the gathering, describing their experiences working with ADTRAN. The VAR Guy will be sure to ask what role channel partners play in those experiences.
That’s all for now… The VAR Guy arrives in Alabama soon for the conference. Got questions for ADTRAN? Post a comment and The VAR Guy will give it a read.
