It’s only Wednesday, but it’s already been an action-packed week for Continuum. One day after opening an office in England’s Thames Valley and adding ex-Micropoint Managed Services executive Paul Balkwell as its European sales director, the Boston-based remote monitoring and management (RMM) software company today made several executive appointments.

Continuum has named Chris Paul, the former vice president of engineering at Salesforce.com (CRM) analytics solutions provider InsightSquared, as its chief technology officer (CTO) and vice president of engineering.

In addition to serving as InsightSquared’s vice president of engineering, Paul has held executive positions at Blueleaf, BrainShark, NameMedia, NetGenesis and Visible Measures.

“The demand for advanced IT solutions including advanced cloud-based solutions in the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market represents an enormous opportunity for Continuum as it executes on its mission to be the dominant leader in this category,” Paul said in a prepared statement. “I am thrilled to join a strong Continuum team to continue building the best portfolio of IT applications for delivery by managed service providers (MSPs) to the SMB market.”

Expectations already are high for Paul, and Continuum said it expects him to take the company’s product platform and portfolio “to the next level of performance.”

“InsightSquared is a leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) company, and we are leveraging [Paul’s] experience in building great engineering teams and great products that meet the needs of our partners,” Continuum CEO Michael George told MSPmentor. “All business requires analytics, and his ability to lead engineering teams across the globe helps him with the various teams he now leads at Continuum.”

Continuum names Hunter Smith as CIO

Continuum also has added Hunter Smith as its chief information officer (CIO) and Sudhakar Dongre as its assistant VP of infrastructure and IT operations in Mumbai.

Smith previously served as senior vice president and CTO at investment management firm Acadian Asset Management, while Dongre most recently worked as a regional delivery manager and program manager at IBM (IBM).

Continuum has made several additions to both its executive team and board of advisors this year.

Paul, Smith and Dongre are three of the company’s most recent executive appointments, and Continuum has added Ed McLaughlin, the former president of Sharp Imaging & Information Company of America, and VMware (VMW) CIO Tony Scott to its board of advisors as well.
