Huawei XSHE will use LogMeIn39s LOGM39s Rescue remote support solution to assist US customers with their Ascend Mate2 smartphones

LogMeIn to Provide Remote Support for Huawei Ascend Mate2 Smartphone

Huawei (XSHE) will use LogMeIn's (LOGM's) Rescue remote support solution to assist U.S. customers with their Ascend Mate2 smartphones.

Remote access software provider LogMeIn (LOGM) today announced a new partnership with Huawei (XSHE), a global information and communications technology (ICT) company.

Huawei will use remote support solution LogMeIn Rescue to help U.S. customers with their Ascend Mate2 smartphones from virtually anywhere in the world.

The Ascend Mate2 will make its U.S. debut later this month, and Huawei customers can download the free LogMeIn Rescue Application from the Google (GOOG) Play Store to receive remote support for their smartphones.

LogMeIn said the app allows a Huawei customer care agent to remotely view the smartphone, run diagnostics, push common device and network configuration settings and control the phone.

“The Ascend Mate2 exemplifies our commitment to delivering premium customer experiences by pairing a feature-rich, high-quality device with superior services,” Ed Dowell, Huawei Device USA’s senior manager for end user care, said in a prepared statement. “LogMeIn is the ideal support partner for Ascend Mate2’s entry into the U.S. market. We feel confident that by using LogMeIn Rescue, Huawei agents will be able to provide the world-class, hands-on service our customers deserve.”

LogMeIn noted the Rescue solution gives help desks and support teams the ability to remotely configure, diagnose and troubleshoot Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, as well as PCs and Macs.

“Top manufacturers like Huawei understand how important customer experience is to building brand loyalty. Because Huawei is selling the Ascend Mate2 directly to consumers, a first-rate support experience is more important than ever,” said Steve Castro-Miller, VP of products for LogMeIn’s service cloud. “Huawei’s selection of LogMeIn Rescue for such a high-profile offering and market expansion speaks volumes about the power and reliability of our solution.”

LogMeIn Rescue senior product manager Don Brass told MSPmentor the solution offers:

  • Full remote control on Android smartphones and tablets manufactured globally by HTC, Kazam, Motorola, Samsung, Sony and Vertu
  • Full remote control on Android smartphones manufactured by Asus, LG, ZTE and others on a regional basis
  • Support for legacy mobile devices that run on operating systems such as Symbian and Windows Mobile

He also pointed out LogMeIn Rescue supports iPhones and iPads, but it does not yet provide full remote control for these devices.

“Support agents can view, remote control and use whiteboarding within the Rescue application, and we use the native screenshot capabilities outside of our app to allow users to send a stream of images back to the agent. In addition, our application allows chat, co-browsing, system diagnostics, push configurations and more,” Brass said, referring to LogMeIn Rescue’s iPhone and iPad support. “At the end of the day, though, we support more devices than anyone else in the market.”
