LogicNow (formerly GFI Max), known for its MAXfocus platform, has updated its ControlNow IT infrastructure management platform, enabling managed service providers (MSPs) to remotely monitor their customers’ Windows services.

The IT service management platform provider this week added remote monitoring and management (RMM) capabilities for Windows services and personalized alerts for individual users to ControlNow.

ControlNow’s new Service Manager allows support staff to monitor, review, start and stop Windows services remotely, LogicNow said.

The new release also enables corporate IT departments to create individual alert profiles for each member of a support staff.

Filters can be applied to each individual user as well, LogicNow said, ensuring specialist staff in larger corporate IT departments can opt to receive only the alerts that they need.

For example, IT admins have the option to receive alerts about all quarantined emails, failed patches and other security issues, or they can choose to receive only notifications that are related to critical issues, such as important servers going offline.

“As companies grow, their IT support needs to grow and this creates a need for individualized responsibilities and [specialties] within IT teams,” LogicNow General Manager Alistair Forbes said in a prepared statement. “When such [specialties] exist, many aspects of IT management – and their associated alerts – become relevant only to certain members of the IT team. The personal profiles in our new release address this – IT teams will know that any alert that hits their inbox will be relevant to them and their own role.”

ControlNow is a hosted management and security platform that is specifically designed for IT admins.

LogicNow said this platform enables users to “easily oversee your network at any time from anywhere with integrated antivirus, patch management, web protection, monitoring, remote control and free asset tracking.”
