LogicMonitor, a software-as-a-service-based (SaaS-based) data center monitoring services platform, has announced an integration with Autotask that could help managed service providers (MSPs) simplify their IT operations.

The new integration leverages LogicMonitor’s ActiveDiscovery feature, allowing customers to automate the discovery of devices and configure monitoring on all of their technology.

“MSPs can use LogicMonitor’s ActiveDiscovery to automatically discover and set up monitoring on devices, making sure that no customer equipment or services go unmonitored or unmanaged. All of these features help MSPs increase revenue, scale business operations and create more satisfied customers,” LogicMonitor CEO Kevin McGibben told MSPmentor.

LogicMonitor provides pre-configured, hosted performance monitoring for numerous solutions, including:

  • Applications

  • Cloud computing and virtualization

  • Networks

  • Servers

  • Storage

The LogicMonitor-Autotask integration allows customers to “discover and add a new device automatically and intelligently in Autotask along with meaningful monitoring metrics and notifications,” according to McGibben.

“[The integration] automates and streamlines their operations, allowing MSPs to significantly scale the efficiency of their teams,” he said in a prepared statement.

Eric Aslaksen, chief technology officer of Atlanta-based MSP iVision, said he believes the LogicMonitor-Autotask integration will allow his company to transform its IT operations.

“LogicMonitor enables us to deploy faster [and] more accurately and solve problems sooner,” he said. “By partnering with LogicMonitor and Autotask, we are transforming our IT operations in a way that allows us to be even more responsive — and more cost-effective — to our clients than ever before.”

How does LogicMonitor support MSPs and their customers?

LogicMonitor offers MSPs granular data that they can use to manage and monitor their customers’ equipment and services.

“[We provide] MSPs with very granular data into their on-premise, cloud, hybrid and co-lo infrastructure in a SaaS platform that helps MSPs,” McGibben added.

The LogicMonitor-Autotask integration, meanwhile, could help MSPs and their customers for years to come.

“Instead of having two different software platforms creating tickets, MSPs using the LogicMonitor-Autotask integration can create, acknowledge and close alerts generated by the LogicMonitor platform from within Autotask,” McGibben said. “The result: IT operations that are streamlined and MSPs that are more responsive than ever before.”

The LogicMonitor news comes a day after Autotask announced its acquisition of cloud-based RMM provider CentraStage.
