LabTech Software Launches Cloudtools Integration for VM Migrations
LabTech Software has launched an integrated solution that could help managed service providers (MSPs) automate their customers’ virtual machine (VM) migrations.
The Tampa, Florida-based remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform company has unveiled Cloudtools Shift, a drag-and-drop solution from Austin, Texas-based Cloudtools that allows IT service providers to move VMs anywhere and streamline the entire VM migration process by automatically converting both disk images and hypervisors.
Cloudtools Shift features an event-based licensing model that allows users to pay by the move.
“The integration of [Cloudtools] sets a standard for RMM platforms by providing a quick and seamless transfer of data across a fully secure cloud, thereby allowing administrators more time to focus attention on delivering an exceptional user experience,” LabTech Software CEO Matt Nachtrab said in a prepared statement.
How does Cloudtools Shift work?
LabTech Software said Cloudtools Shift is installed in customers’ environments so that data is secure and never leaves their possession.
Installing the Cloudtools Shift server takes minutes, LabTech Software said, and the integrated solution supports the following:
- Amazon Web Services
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- VMware vSphere
LabTech Software, meanwhile, is in “hyper-growth mode,” according to Marketing Director John Timko.
The RMM platform provider recently announced it will add up to 100 corporate headquarters jobs, including customer support, marketing, sales and software development positions. LabTech Software also unveiled an integration with Thycotic‘s Secret Server software in September.
What should MSPs expect from LabTech Software in the future? The company today announced it will name its next release “LabTech 10” to commemorate its 10-year anniversary, and Nachtrab said he believes “the future of LabTech Software is limitless.”
