Former Kaseya community leader Brendan Cosgrove now advises Drumbi.

Brendan Cosgrove, Kaseya‘s director of global social media and community, has exited the company. It’s the latest in a growing list of executive and community leader changes at Kaseya and across the MSP software community. So what’s the bigger story here?

I think we’re seeing three trends converge at once. My personal opinion:

  1. MSP community leaders, after five or more years burning the midnight oil in their current posts, are looking for new or different industry opportunities.

  2. MSP software companies in many cases are re-thinking the term “community” — striving to keep MSPs engaged without attempting to compete head-on with ConnectWise‘s community approach — known as IT Nation.

  3. Recent M&A activity across the market — including Kaseya, Level Platforms, N-able and others — has forced many community leaders to re-think their own career paths.
