HP Network Management Center 9.1 Arrives for MSPs
Hewlett-Packard has released Network Management Center (NMC) 9.1. The company claims NMC offers MSPs and corporate IT manager a “holistic” approach to network infrastructure management. HP Director of Product Marketing Ashish Kuthiala shared some more insights with me.
“Networks are becoming very complex to manage and there are a lot of compliance requirements,” said Kuthiala. Version 9.1, he added, focuses on three main areas: more capabilities for MSPs, cloud computing solutions, and unified communications management.
On the MSP front, an HP dashboard allows you to manage several clients and departments at once. On the cloud front, NMC users can combine availability, performance, configuration and compliance management with automated remediation into a single console, whether they’re using a traditional environment or a cloud environment. The UC support also mergers unified communications events into the console, helping MSPs to monitor SLAs for customers.
“This new version is very proactive, and not reactive,” said Kuthiala.
HP has taken multiple steps in recent months to assist MSPs. In particular, keep an eye on HP’s relationship with Axcient. HP has been introducing Axcient — a cloud-based storage provider — to channel partners. And Axcient has agreed to standardize its cloud software on HP infrastructure. The relationship is part of a broader startup strategy led by Meaghan Kelly, VP of SMB and channels at HP.
