Continuum Relocates Data Center to Increase Storage

Continuum said this week that it relocated its data center to a facility hosted by Markley Group to increase storage, optimal redundancy, reliability and scalability.

The Markley Group’s 920,000-square-foot multi-tenant data center facility is based in New England and houses more than 200 companies in the industry.

“The facility itself is far larger than the previous one,” Continuum Global Service Delivery Senior Vice President Rob Autor told MSPmentor via email. “But the key here is capacity, and it has an enormous amount.”

The new facilty provides Continuum with new compute, storage and networking equiment, “literally replacing 100 percent” of what the RMM company had previously, Autor said. “Everything is new and top of the line.”

Additionally, Autor said broadband access at the new facility is “considerably better.”

Companies being hosted at the Markely Group facility include the following, AT&T, NTT, British Telecom, Tata Communications, Boston Red Sox, Harvard, MIT, the Boston Internet Peering Exchange (BOSIX), the New York Times and Markley Cloud Services.

Separately, Continuum appointed Nicholas Bruno last week to chief information security officer (CISO), a new position at the company.
