Continuum CEO Michael George last month said his company would “need a bigger boat” to support its global expansion.

And now, this Boston-based remote monitoring and management (RMM) software company is taking its operations to Europe.

Continuum today announced it has opened a European headquarters in England’s Thames Valley and added former Micropoint Managed Services executive Paul Balkwell as its European sales director.

“We are excited about our expansion into Europe and even more excited about Paul Balkwell leading this important initiative for Continuum,” Mark Connolly, Continuum’s vice president of sales, said in a prepared statement. “The rapid growth of our large managed service provider (MSP) partner base as well as signing on so many new partners over the last year has led to our expansion into Europe.”

Balkwell has over 22 years of IT experience and previously served as director and UK general manager at Micropoint Managed Services, a UK-based MSP that was recently acquired by IP Integration and was one of Continuum’s MSP partners in the UK for more than a decade.

Connolly told MSPmentor that he believes the addition of Balkwell and the headquarters in the Thames Valley, which is located just outside London, will provide his company with a great start to its European expansion.

“The plan is to generally build out a structure which includes establishing an office that will allow Continuum to attack the European market in the same way that we have been successful in North America,” he said. “Given the opportunity in the UK, and Paul Balkwell’s experience and network there, we felt this was the optimal place to start our expansion efforts into Europe.“

Continuum targets the European market

Continuum pointed out Balkwell has built successful growth strategies for managed IT services, systems integration and software solutions in the UK and is expected to help this RMM software company extend its global reach.

Balkwell will build Continuum’s European team and said he will help the company better support its European partners as well.

“Continuum has experienced significant growth in Europe, and we continue to focus on our channel partners as they support the growing demand for managed IT services throughout the region,” Balkwell said. “Building this commercial and technical resource in Europe allows us to provide better services and support to local partners.”
