CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) is beefing up its cross-platform middleware infrastructure monitoring and management capabilities through a new distribution agreement with middleware application performance monitoring specialist Nastel to offer that company’s AutoPilot for middleware management.

Nastel’s solution covers IBM WebSphere MQ, Message Broker, DataPower and TIBCO, complementing the performance management solutions already offered by CA such as CA Application Performance Management which provides application and transaction monitoring and CA SYSVIEW Performance Management.

CA’s move marks another step by the company in its effort to provide a more comprehensive management capability for IT organizaitons.

“Customers around the world are looking for an enterprise solution that manages their middleware infrastructure across mainframe, distributed and cloud platforms,” said Dayton Semerjian, general manager, Mainframe, CA Technologies, in a prepared statement. “Given the success of our cross-platform application performance management solution, this partnership makes great sense as it extends our already robust monitoring and management capabilities into one of the fastest growing adjacent segments.”

CA will resell and distribute Nastel’s AutoPilot for middleware, extending the company’s management and monitoring capabilities deeper in the middleware infrastructure, the company said.
