BMC Bolsters Application Performance Management
Here's a snapshot of the new features BMC has added, all of which are available immediately:
BMC Software continues to bolster its Application Performance Management platform, seeking to help customers and service providers to identify and fix network problems more rapidly. The update seeks to prevent application failures in mobile and desktop environments, whether the applications are being delivered through the cloud or on-premises.
Here’s a snapshot of the new features BMC has added, all of which are available immediately:
- Real-time Predictive Analytics that help customers ID root causes of network problems more quickly. BMC claims that just finding causes more quickly can speed up troubleshooting and problem solving by as much as 90 percent.
- Enhanced Management for Mobile Users so that companies can use the BMC application performance management solution to compare mobile user performance with desktop user performance to better understand how the mobile devices being used impact the overall experience.
- Collaborative Application Mapping that can speed up the mapping process for multi-tier applications by 50 percent – 60 percent.
- Centralized Management and Administration in order for a company to store all of its performance application management data in a single location.
BMC is part of the “Big 4” IT management software providers, along with CA Technologies, IBM and HewlettPackard. The company has also been strengthening its channel partner program, though most partners appear to be traditional VARs and integrators rather than MSPs leveraging BMC to manage customer networks.
